Last Offering of Machine Quilting with Rulers in 2024

Quilters, if you haven't tried quilting with rulers, you should! As mentioned in an earlier post ... "ruler quilting is free motion quilting on training wheels."  After you have mastered the touch of the ruler with your machine, your creativity is endless.  

The Kousins will be offering the Machine Quilting with Rulers class on Tuesday, November 19 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Hoovers Bernina Sew in Mifflinburg, PA.  Registration will remain open this is entire week by calling Hoovers at 570-966-3822.  REGISTER TODAY!

Cranberry Quilt Guild Welcomes Kackling Kousins

On Monday, October 28, 2024 the Kackling Kousins were welcomed by the Cranberry Quilt Guild in Hazelton, PA.  They were invited to serve as the guest speakers for the evening presenting the Quilt-As-You-Go Civil War Style Lecture.  What a great group of quilters!

Kackling Kousins Welcomed at Pocono Sew and Vac

Pocono Sew and Vac welcomed the Kackling Kousins as instructors at their facility.  It was amazing!!! From the Machine Quilting with Rulers Class on Monday 10/14, to the Cathedral Table Mat Class on Tuesday, 10/15, quilting and laughter were shared by all.  We hope everyone enjoyed our teaching techniques and will plan to join us for our next visit to Strausburg, PA.  Take a look at some of the highlights . . .

      

Kackling Kousins Fall 24 Update

Quilting activities have been "Klucking Krazy!"

• We kicked off a new block-of-the month, "Tales of the First Ladies" in September at Hoovers.
  
  
• We are traveling to Strausburg, PA to Poconos Sew and Vac to teach, "Machine Quilting with Rulers," on Monday, October 14 and the "Cathedral Table Mat" on Tuesday, October 15,

Monday, October 21 (Tales of the First Ladies--Blocks 3 and 4). Registration Closed

Tuesday, October 22 (Free Motion Quilting) from 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Did you buy a Bernina machine with a BSR?  Did you open the box?  Do you know how to use the BSR?  Did you buy one of the new Bernina 990, where the BSR is built into the machine, and maybe you don't understand why that is such a benefit?  This class will provide you with so many new ideas for free motion quilting and open up some exciting new quilting techniques.

Monday, November 18 (Tales of the First Ladies--Blocks 5 and 6).  Registration Closed 

Tuesday, November 19 (Machine Quilting with Rulers) from 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Have you learned the technique of machine quilting with rulers?  If not, this class will give you the opportunity to test drive many rulers.  Ruler quilting is custom quilting and will allow you to be as creative as you want . . . your next quilt could be a showstopper!

Monday, December 2 (Cathedral Window Table Mat) from 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Come join us for the Cathedral Window Table Mat Class!  Leave class with a new Holiday Mat or a beautiful gift for a family member or friend.

Kackling Kousins are Back!

The Kackling Kousins have been spending time with grandkids, family and friends during July and August.  We are ending our two month quilting hiatus at the Great Grange Fair in Centre Hall, PA. As you know, we are actually cousins and our family has been attending the Fair since 1943. 

To that end, we are ready to kick off Fall 2024 quilting with a NEW Block-of-the-Month at Hoovers BERNINA Sew in Mifflinburg, PA--TALES OF THE FIRST LADIES beginning Monday, September 16th (this BOM will meet for six months on the third Monday of each month).

We will continue this fall at Hoovers with some one day classes:

MACHINE QUILTING WITH RULERS CLASS

We will also be teaching the CATHEDRAL WINDOW TABLE MAT class on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.  This is a quilt-as-you-go technique that will provide you with a finished table mat for your holiday table.

The Kousins are really looking forward to spending quality quilting time and fellowship with all of you!

Congratulations Miss Rose!!!!

 

Congratulations Miss Rose on your wedding this summer.  However, for The Kousins, Rose's wedding announcement is bittersweet.  Even though we are extremely happy for Rose, she will be leaving Hoovers to relocate with her new husband.  We enjoyed her smiling face, her attention to detail, and her helping hand whenever needed

Best wishes Rose ... you will be missed!
